2023 Fantasy All-Pro Team

These players were the best of the best at their positions for the 2023 fantasy football season.

Each year, the Associated Press selects a number of players who met (and in most cases exceeded) expectations on the NFL gridiron. Those players are honored with a mention on the NFL All-Pro Team roster. Earlier this month, the AP released a list of this season’s top superstars, including many who were stars in the fantasy world.

Since the actual Pro Bowl is no longer a thing, replaced by the “Pro Bowl Games,” being named an All-Pro is the greatest honor for a player based on his success. As a result, I’ve created my own All-Pro list – but this one is based on fantasy production.

Since the fantasy season ends in Week 17 in most traditional leagues, I’m excluding all Week 18 statistics from my research. So, without further ado, here are the best of the best, the cream of the crop, the best fantasy players of the 2023 season!

Quarterback

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills: Allen led quarterbacks with an impressive 369.6 fantasy points. He scored 20-plus points 12 times, including three with at least 29 points. While he did throw 18 interceptions, Allen made up for it by rushing for 15 scores. That is a new NFL record for quarterbacks, tied with Jalen Hurts who also ran for 15 touchdowns this season. In all, Allen totaled 42 touchdowns in the fantasy year.

Runner up: Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

Running Back

Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers: McCaffrey was the best fantasy player regardless of position, racking up 391.3 points. He scored 21 total touchdowns, compiled over 2,000 yards from scrimmage and recorded 20-plus points in 12 of his 16 games. Maybe the most impressive stat for CMC is that he outscored the second-best running back, Travis Etienne, by over 120 PPR points!

Runner up: Travis Etienne, Jacksonville Jaguars

Wide Receivers

CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys: Lamb was the best wideout in fantasy leagues in 2023, scoring 367.7 points. He was super consistent in the stat sheets, posting 20 or more points seven times including four games with 30-plus points and two with more than 40 points. Lamb was also a star when fantasy fans needed him the most, as he put up 84 points (28 PPG) during the three weeks of the fantasy football postseason.

Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins: Hill was on a record-setting pace to begin the season, as he scored 280.3 points (25.5 PPG) in his first 11 contests. His stats did fall a bit the rest of the year, but Hill still finished second in points among wideouts. What’s more, he scored 20-plus points nine times including five with more than 30 points and one with over 40. All of those came within the first 12 weeks of the season!

Runner up: Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions

Tight End

Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions: Sorry, all of you “Swifties” out there, but the best tight end in fantasy football wasn’t Taylor’s boyfriend … It was LaPorta. He finished with 225.4 points in the fantasy season, posting 81 receptions for 860 yards with nine touchdowns. It was the best fantasy season of all time for a rookie tight end. With Travis Kelce entering his age-35 season, LaPorta will be the top tight end in 2023.

Runner up: Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs

Kicker

Brandon Aubrey, Cowboys: Aubrey came out of nowhere to become the best kicker in the league (and fantasy football) this season. He had 167 points in the fantasy season, which was 22 more than the next best kickers, and he didn’t miss a single field-goal attempt in those 16 contests. Not bad for a player who didn’t even play college football! Aubrey will be a top-three kicker in most 2024 fantasy drafts.

Runner up: Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens

Linebacker

T.J. Watt, Pittsburgh Steelers: This should come as a surprise to no one, as Watt had 17 sacks with 60 total tackles during the fantasy season. He also had eight passes defensed, recorded an interception, forced four fumbles and scored a touchdown. This was all good for 184.1 points. Watt will remain a top-end IDP option next season.

Runner up: Foyesade Oluokun, Jacksonville Jaguars

Defensive Back

Antoine Winfield Jr., Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Winfield is coming off a huge year in the stat sheets, recording 117 total tackles, 12 passes defensed, five sacks and three interceptions. That was good enough to finish the fantasy season with 170.4 points. That’s more than any defensive back had in the entire NFL season.

Runner up: Jesse Bates, Atlanta Falcons

Defensive Lineman

Maxx Crosby, Las Vegas Raiders: Crosby was an IDP superstar, filling up the box scores with 88 total tackles and 13.5 sacks during the fantasy season. He also led all defensive linemen in solo tackles (53) and forced two fumbles in that time. Crosby was also the only lineman who averaged double-digit points for the season.

Runner up: Aidan Hutchinson, Detroit Lions
