2024 LIV Golf Mayakoba Final Payouts, Prize Money, Winnings: Joaquin Niemann Wins $4 Million
LIV Golf made its 2024 debut this week at the Mayakoba Resort in Mexico, and it includes some tweaks to its format and the debut of a 13th team, Legion XIII, captained by Jon Rahm, the league's splashiest offseason signing.
This year LIV events include 54 players, up from 48 last year, to account for Rahm's four-member squad plus two players who will compete as individuals.
Joaquin Niemann took home the first win of the season and his first win in LIV Golf, topping Sergio Garcia in a playoff. He shot 59 in his first round, was penalized two shots in his second round and then fired a 1-under 71 in his third round. He survived a four-hole playoff with Sergio Garcia, birdieing the last hole in near-darkness.
