Bills Hosting Chargers DT Austin Johnson for Free Agent Visit
The Buffalo Bills have lost some big names on the defensive side of the ball this offseason but could be close to adding a veteran on the d-line.
Per reports from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bills are hosting Los Angeles Chargers free-agent defensive lineman Austin Johnson for a visit on Wednesday.
Johnson, 29, was originally a second-round pick by the Tennessee Titans in the 2016 draft. He spent four years with the Titans before joining the New York Giants in 2020. He then signed a deal with the Chargers in 2022 but didn't match the kind of production he had during his first six years in the league.
In 116 career games and 55 starts, Johnson has tallied 241 total tackles, eight sacks, 17 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 10 passes defended.
While he wouldn't be considered a splash addition, Johnson could provide some nice depth to a Buffalo defensive line that already features the likes of Ed Oliver, DaQuan Jones, A.J. Epenesa and more.
