Caitlin Clark Shares Her No. 1 Goal for WNBA Rookie Season With Indiana Fever

It came as no surprise when the Indiana Fever selected Iowa Hawkeyes superstar Caitlin Clark with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft on Monday night.

In what was a foregone conclusion, Clark was off the board first in Brooklyn after being selected by the Fever, who were eager to welcome her to the organization. After the big moment, Clark stepped aside for an interview with Holly Rowe, who asked about what her biggest goal for her rookie season was.

Clark answered candidly, telling Rowe that she really just wanted to have fun in her first year as a pro.

"I think the biggest thing is just, be myself and have fun. And if I do that the rest is going to take care of itself," said Clark.

Clark expressed her excitement after being the first pick in the draft, as well as what's to come during her rookie season at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, which she joked would be a "hot ticket" for fans to get their hands on.

Fans won't have to wait long to see Clark back in action. The 2024 WNBA season tips off on May 14, and the Fever will be battling against the Connecticut Sun on the first night of the new campaign in what will be Clark's first game as a professional.
