Eagles’ Jalen Hurts Makes Huge Donation to Philadelphia Schools
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has spent much of his young career endearing himself to the City of Brotherly Love with his play on the field.
However, he has also repeatedly proven a winner off of it. The signal-caller has worked extensively with the KB Foundation, a youth outreach organization in Philadelphia, and promoted the Women's Sports Foundation on his cleats in 2021.
On Friday morning, Hurts added another venture to his resume, announcing that he would provide $200,000 for 10 Philadelphia schools to install air conditioning. He formally made the announcement at Edward Gideon Elementary School in North Philadelphia.
With the Eagles, Hurts has made two Pro Bowls and steered his team to the 2022 NFC title.
While the causes and ethics of Philadelphia schools' severe, well-documented lack of air conditioning are worth investigating, it's hard to argue with Hurts stepping in to lend a helping hand—especially with summer looming.
