Tyson Foods Expertly Trolls Kentucky Radio Hosts Over John Calipari Leaving With Perfect Gifts

Imagine one Kentucky radio host’s surprise when, following news of John Calipari’s departure, a package from Tyson Foods arrived at his doorstep.

Matt Jones and two other personalities from Kentucky Sports Radio received a special and saucy gift from Tyson Foods, a major Arkansas Razorbacks booster, shortly after Calipari left Kentucky to join Arkansas.

The gift included a note that read, “Hey Matt, Ryan, and Billy, we listened to your show and loved hearing your take on Coach Cal’s move to Arkansas. We’re excited to have Coach make his move to Hog Country and create some energy here and continue to help the program. Even if our headquarters is in Arkansas, we love Kentucky food… so we sent you some delicious deep dino nuggets from Tyson.”

Along with their famous dinosaur-shaped nuggets, the food processing company sent Razorbacks shirts and Tyson Foods-branded swag to thank the Kentucky Sports Radio hosts for symbolically giving away their longtime coach.

After 15 years at Kentucky, the 65-year-old Calipari agreed to a five-year contract with Arkansas with a starting salary of $7 million per season. It’s speculated that Calipari’s move was heavily influenced by the coach’s close relationship with John Tyson, CEO of Tyson Foods. Kentucky has yet to hire Calipari’s replacement.
