John Cena Mourns Death of Former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt
The wrestling world lost a giant when Windham Rotunda, better known by his WWE stage name Bray Wyatt, died unexpectedly on Thursday. Many members of the pro wrestling world took to social media to pay their respects to their former colleague, but one in particular stood out among the rest.
WWE legend John Cena offered his condolences to Wyatt’s family early Friday morning on social media, sending his thoughts to Wyatt’s family and the wrest of the wrestling world.
“Windham brought the best out of me in so many ways,” Cena wrote on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter. “I’m forever grateful for the moments we shared. A sad day for all those he reached around the world.”
Cena and Wyatt faced off numerous times over the years. Wyatt had an alter ego named “The Fiend” and often played a foil to Cena in matches. The pair developed a strong rivalry over the past decade.
Wyatt and Cena last fought at WWE WrestleMania 36 in 2020, when Wyatt defeated Cena.
WWE almost certainly will honor Wyatt in some fashion in the near future, and Cena likely will be a part the tribute to his former colleague.
