Ludvig Aberg Somehow Drives Green on Par-4 After Clubhead Breaks Off
The second-year pro hit one of the wildest shots of his career on Saturday at the Valero Texas Open.
Second-year PGA Tour pro Ludvig Aberg hit the wildest shot of his professional career on Saturday at the Valero Texas Open.
Aberg was teeing off on the par-4 17th hole, when his driver head came flying off the shaft of his club. Despite the clubhead separating at impact, Aberg's ball somehow made it all the way to the green as planned in a shot that has to be seen to believed.
The second angle of the shot from behind Aberg is even crazier than the first.
Aberg carded a five-under 67, and sits at six-under par for the tournament and in a tie for fourth heading into Sunday's final round at TPC San Antonio. He is seeking his second career PGA Tour victory after breaking through at the RSM Classic last November for his first career win on Tour.
Regardless of whether or not Aberg ultimately captures the tournament victory on Sunday, his play this week has certainly given him some strong momentum heading into the first major of the season next week at The Masters.
