Georgia Tech hosts Cleveland and Miami (FL)

Miami (FL) visits Ndongo and Georgia Tech

1 DAY AGO • ASSOCIATED PRESS
Brandon Johnson - Puts up 20 points in loss Johnson closed Saturday's 92-73 loss to North Carolina with 20 points (7-17 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals over 38 minutes.
Impact Matthew Cleveland led the way for the Canes with a 25-point effort off the bench, but Johnson posted a solid stat line across the board as well. The senior forward ended just three boards away from a double-double, and he heads into the final week of the regular season with averages of 8.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and a combined 1.7 steals-plus-blocks across 29 starts.

Matthew Cleveland - Leading scorer in return Cleveland (leg) ended Saturday's 92-73 loss to North Carolina with 25 points (12-21 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), five rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal in 34 minutes.
Impact Cleveland returned from a two-game absence Saturday, leading the Hurricanes with 25 points in the eventual loss. The senior is now averaging 16.3 points and 4.3 rebounds across 29.7 minutes in 26 games this season.
2 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Lynn Kidd - Dealing with ankle injury Kidd is dealing with a right ankle injury and should be considered as day-to-day moving forward, Michelle Kaufman of The Miami Herald reports.
Impact Kidd's injury isn't believed to be overly serious, as deemed by his day-to-day status, so there's a chance he might return to face Georgia Tech on Tuesday. He's the leading rebounder of the Canes at 7.1 boards per contest.
2 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Lynn Kidd - Won't suit up Saturday Kidd (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's game against UNC, Justice Sandle of SI.com reports.
Impact It's unclear why Kidd won't suit up for this contest, but there's no question the absence of the big man is a huge loss for the Hurricanes. Kidd is averaging 11.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.6 blocks per game this season. Paul Djobet and Kiree Huie could be in line for more minutes in the frontcourt with Kidd out.
2 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Lynn Kidd - Scores 17 points in loss Kidd ended Tuesday's 97-60 loss to Duke with 17 points (8-14 FG, 1-1 FT) and three rebounds in 29 minutes.
Impact The Hurricanes looked completely overmatched Tuesday against one of the best teams in the nation, but Kidd was one of the few standout performers. The big man scored in double digits for the sixth time across his last seven games, a span in which he's recorded three double-doubles.

Duke assistant Jai Lucas agrees to take over as Miami's next men's basketball coach

Duke associate head coach Jai Lucas has agreed to become the next head coach at Miami, pending the completion of contract negotiations.

Matthew Cleveland - DNP vs. Virginia Tech Cleveland did not play in Saturday's game against Virginia Tech due to a leg injury, Christopher Stock of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Cleveland was forced to miss his first matchup of the season as he tends to a leg injury. The senior guard will aim to be back for Tuesday's clash against Duke. He has totaled 54 points a nd 12 assists across his last three performances.
FEBRUARY 22 • ROTOWIRE
Matthew Cleveland - Poor shooting display Cleveland finished with 14 points (3-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one block in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 74-66 loss to Florida State.
Impact Cleveland was one of the top players for Miami in this game, but there's no question his shooting line was subpar, to put it nicely. Cleveland has been a reliable scoring weapon for Miami all season long, but he's trending in the wrong direction of late. Over his last two contests, he's shooting a meager 23.3 percent from the floor.
FEBRUARY 20 • ROTOWIRE
Lynn Kidd - Nearly perfect in loss Saturday Kidd posted 16 points (5-6 FG, 6-6 FT), 15 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal in 31 minutes during Saturday's 74-65 loss to Pittsburgh.
Impact Kidd missed only one shot from the floor en route to another double-double, but he also hauled in a season-high mark in rebounds. The senior 6-foot-10, 241-pound center is averaging a solid line of 11.8 points, 8.5 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per contest since the beginning of February.

Pittsburgh hosts Miami (FL) following Cleveland's 32-point game

Miami (FL) visits the Pittsburgh Panthers after Matthew Cleveland scored 32 points in the Hurricanes' 91-84 victory over the Syracuse Orange

Jalil Bethea - Puts up 21 out of nowhere Bethea logged 21 points (6-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one block over 32 minutes during Tuesday's 91-84 victory over Syracuse.
Impact Bethea was held scoreless across 13 minutes in his previous outing, so it was definitely surprising to see him set a new career high here. He's now started 10 of the last 11 contests, averaging a modest 7.7 ppg and 2.7 rpg over that span.
FEBRUARY 12 • ROTOWIRE
Matthew Cleveland - Propels Miami to victory with 32 Cleveland ended Tuesday's 91-84 victory over Syracuse with 32 points (10-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 10-12 FT), three rebounds, five assists, two blocks and three steals over 38 minutes.
Impact Despite playing for a lousy Miami team, Cleveland has become one of the most prolific scorers in the country. He's logged 21 or more points in seven consecutive contests, averaging 26.4 ppg over that span. Even without an optimistic postseason outlook, Cleveland should continue to be an elite producer down the stretch as he sets his sights on the next level.

Matthew Cleveland - Solid output despite loss Cleveland produced 27 points (10-17 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 82-71 loss to Virginia.
Impact After a four-game stretch in which he came off the bench between Nov. 30 and Dec. 10, Cleveland has been outstanding for the Hurricanes. The last four games, though, he's taken things to a whole new level with 23 or more points in each of those outings. Cleveland is averaging 21.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 blocks per game since the beginning of January.
JANUARY 31 • ROTOWIRE
Lynn Kidd - Scores points off bench Kidd (coach's decision) provided seven points (3-5 FG, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes during Wednesday's 82-71 loss to Virginia.
Impact After sitting out the last game due to a coach's decision, Kidd returned to action and logged 21 minutes off the bench. The senior center will aim to build on this performance for Saturday's matchup against Notre Dame.
JANUARY 29 • ROTOWIRE
Matthew Cleveland - Another big day Cleveland ended with 30 points (9-19 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 9-9 FT), eight rebounds and three assists in 36 minutes during Saturday's 98-94 OT loss to California.
Impact Cleveland oddly came off the bench after starting nine games in a row for the Hurricanes, but unlike teammate Lynn Kidd -- who didn't play at all -- it was largely business as usual. In fact, it was the second time in three games Cleveland surpassed 30 points and also his second-best scoring total of the year. Miami will remain bottom feeders in the ACC in 2024-25, but all signs point to continued production from Cleveland as he sets his sights on the next level.
JANUARY 26 • ROTOWIRE
Lynn Kidd - Surprise DNP Saturday Kidd did not appear in Saturday's 98-94 loss to California due to a coach's decision, Michelle Kaufman of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact Kidd had started all previous 19 games this season for the struggling Hurricanes, but interim coach Bill Courtney decided to make the switch to Kiree Huie, who logged 18 minutes in the contest. Brandon Johnson also saw a minutes boost as a result of Kidd's absence. It's unclear if this trend will continue when the Hurricanes host Virginia on Wednesday.
JANUARY 26 • ROTOWIRE
Matthew Cleveland - Scores 23 points in loss Cleveland recorded 23 points (7-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 8-11 FT), two rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 88-51 loss to Stanford.
Impact Cleveland scored more than half of Miami's total point haul, which goes to say how important he was for the team in this win. The Hurricanes haven't had a good season, but Cleveland remains a solid fantasy contributor. He's scored at least 20 points in six of his last nine appearances.
JANUARY 23 • ROTOWIRE
Jalen Blackmon - DNP against SMU Blackmon did not take the court in Saturday's 117-74 loss to SMU.
Impact The Hurricanes are in complete free fall, and both Blackmon's usage and production have followed suit. The senior transfer from Stetson, where he averaged 21.3 ppg, began the year as a starter with Miami, averaging 11.6 ppg across 25.1 mpg through the first seven games. He was then moved out of the starting five, and he averaged 5.4 points across 17.2 minutes in the 10 games since. On three separate occasions during that stretch, he was held without a point entirely. No word of an injury has surfaced regarding Blackmon's absence Saturday, but with the Canes losing 14 of 15 games and headed for a complete rebuild, it's anyone's guess what might be happening behind the scenes.
JANUARY 21 • ROTOWIRE
Matthew Cleveland - Racks up 31 in blowout loss Cleveland amassed 31 points (11-17 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 9-10 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 35 minutes during Saturday's 117-74 loss to SMU.
Impact It was the big-time performance fantasy managers have been waiting for, especially after a dreadful outing Tuesday against Duke in which Cleveland mustered just two points. The bounce-back effort brought his season-long scoring average up to last year's mark, but unfortunately for Cleveland and the Hurricanes, Saturday was their 14th defeat in their last 15 contests, and there's little optimism in sight. There simply isn't a reliable secondary scoring option with Nijel Pack sidelined indefinitely by a foot injury, which allows opposing defenses to key in on Cleveland.
JANUARY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Divine Ugochukwu - Returns to action Ugochukwu (hip) ended Saturday's 117-74 loss to SMU with seven points (2-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and one assist in 17 minutes.
Impact Ugochukwu posted seven points, one rebound and one assist in his return to the court during Saturday's blowout loss to SMU. The 6-foot-3 freshman, who is averaging 5.7 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists across 15 games this season, will look to help the Hurricanes rebound against Stanford on Wednesday.
