Orioles OF Suffers Painful Strike After Getting Hit By Filthy Pitch vs. Red Sox
Boston Red Sox reliever Brennan Bernardino had Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander in knots after an 81-mph breaking ball fooled Santander so bad that he swung and missed at a pitch that ended up hitting him.
The pitch came in the top of the 8th on a 2-0 pitch, with a runner on third and one out. Bernardino was trying to get himself out of a jam with the Red Sox already trailing 7-5.
Here's a video of just how nasty that curveball from Bernardino was:
Bernardino ended up striking out Santander, and proceeded to get out of the inning unscathed with the next at-bat. Bernardino struck out three in two innings of work, and has yet to allow an earned run this season as a reliever for Boston.
The Orioles ultimately won the game, 7-5.
