Verne Lundquist Picks Two Favorite Calls From His Legendary Career

Hall of Fame broadcaster Verne Lundquist is calling his 40th and final Masters Tournament this weekend for CBS Sports. The 83-year-old Lundquist has been a mainstay on the air for sports telecasts the last four decades, so he's seen plenty of memorable golf shots and important sports moments throughout his career.

His two favorite calls at The Masters though? Those are obvious to him.

Tiger in 2005 and Jack in 1986.

"Yeah, it's one and 1a," Lundquist told Rich Lerner of NBC Sports. "...I give slight deference to the older guy because he's six months older than I am and I will never let him forget that," Lundquist said about Nicklaus. "But I mean, they're interchangeable. I mean to have been blessed to have had those two calls at this wonderful event is a blessing beyond measure."

Sports broadcasts will not feel quite the same without Lundquist, but fans will certainly have an appreciation for the Hall of Famer this weekend during his final Masters call.
