He matched his second-highest scoring total of the year here, but what's most impressive is that he's reached double figures in all 26 games he's played in 2024-25 en route to a career-high 16.8 ppg average. Xavier will finish its regular season with matchups against Butler (March 5) and Providence (March 8) but may still need to do some damage in the Big East tournament to secure an at-large bid.

While four players were in double figures Saturday, Freemantle has been the primary spark in this run. Since missing three games in December with a lower-body injury, the senior center is averaging 15.9 ppg and 7.0 rpg across seven games in January. He leads the Musketeers in both scoring (16.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.4 rpg) on the year. Next up is another tough road matchup against Creighton on Wednesday.

Coming off bench Saturday Freemantle has been sent back to the bench for Xavier, Shelby Dermer of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Impact Freemantle made his first start since Dec. 14 against St. Johns on Tuesday, but he'll return to the bench against DePaul even after posting 22 points in said start. The forward has been replaced by Dailyn Swain in the first five. Even though he's not in the starting lineup, Freemantle should still figure to make a big impact for Xavier.

Impact Freemantle finally returned to the starting lineup after a three-game hiatus and one game off the bench with a lower-body injury. The 6-foot-9 big man registered his second-best scoring game of the season, dropping 22 points and tacking on two blocks in the eventual loss. The fifth-year looks to be back to full minutes for the Musketeers, and he should be relied on fully as the team looks to compete better in the Big East moving forward.
