Impact Smith would come from 36th on the starting grid to get late tracks position in Nashville. A long rain delay wouldn't derail his best finish of the season in the Ally 400. Smith would have fuel in the tank down the stretch and that would help during the record five overtime restarts. He would hold off Tyler Reddick in the final laps to secure his best finish of the season and first-career Top 5.

Impact Smith would come from ninth on the starting grid to lead 29 laps for the night in Kansas and be Corey Heim's primary challenger. The driver of the No. 91 Chevrolet would take the win in stage 2 and use that good track position to challenge for the win in stage 3. However, Smith couldn't keep up with Heim in the closing laps and would have to settle for the runner-up finish. It was his third Top 5 in just four starts this season.

Smith would lead just 1 lap for the night, but he would hold off Matt Crafton down the stretch to secure the strong third-place finish. It was Smith's first Top 5 of the season.
