311 Predicts Wins for Bucs, Rams, Vikings

The 311 was on fire last week and is looking to keep it going by backing Tampa Bay, Los Angeles Rams, and Minnesota.

The 311 consists of three NFL games that are selected using the spread or money line, one game that is selected based on the total number of points for both teams going over or under and one player projected production for the game and if he exceeds or falls short of that number. This will give you action every week that is based on trends and matchups.

This is Week 6 of the NFL 2022-2023 season. The fifth week of action had the favorites covering five times and the dogs 11. The totals went nine under and seven over. The teams with the best record against the spread are the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers and Dallas Cowboys. The teams with the best record with the total going under are the Cowboys, Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Arizona Cardinals. My record in last week 311 was 4-0-1 and for the year is 12-12-1.

Tampa Bay Show Mettle Against Steelers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the Pittsburgh Steelers and are favored by eight points. The Steelers gave up 38 points to the Buffalo Bills. The Bucs have not been scoring a great deal of points and have only scored more than 30 oncein four games. They’re 21st in the NFL in points per game, averaging 20.6 per game.

The Bucs are the third best defense in the NFL with six interceptions and 19 sacks. This will be a problem for the Steelers and lead to their fifth consecutive loss. Take the Bucs minus the points.

Prediction: Tampa Bay -8 over Pittsburgh (-110 at Caesars)

New Coach Won’t Help Panthers

The Los Angeles Rams host the 1-4 Carolina Panthers. The Rams are favored by 11. The Panthers are coming in off a 37-15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

The Panthers fired Head Coach Matt Rhule after the game. Quarterback Baker Mayfield suffered a high ankle sprain and is out. While the Rams are struggling and have lost two straight, the Panthers are 28th in total offense and 29th in third down conversion rate. While the eleven points may be in question, the Rams winning the game is not. Take the Rams money line.

Prediction: Rams ML (-455 at BetRivers)

Watch: Sunday 4:05 p.m. ET FOX, FuboTV

Miami QB Situation Cloudy

The Minnesota Vikings travel to South Florida to take on the Miami Dolphins. The Vikings are favored by three.

Miami quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater are in concussion protocol and do not have a definitive return date. The Vikings are 4-1 and need the game to stay ahead of the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings are averaging 28 points in their last three games. The Dolphins will not be able to match that level of scoring with third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson as the possible starter.

Take the Vikings minus the points.

Philly-Dallas Lock in Defensive Battle

The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East showdown. The line for this game has moved from -1 to -5 in the favor of the Eagles.

The total for this game is 42. The Eagles are the fourth ranked defense in the NFL with six interceptions and 17 sacks. The Cowboys are ranked in the Top three in sacks with 20 through five games. This has the makings of a defensive contest. Both teams will attempt to establish the run and control the ball. The game goes under 42

Prediction: Philadelphia-Dallas Under 42 (-110 at BetMGM)

Montgomery Comes Up Short

Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery rushing total is set at 63.5 yards.

Montgomery has been under 30 yards in three of his four games played. He is averaging 13.8 yards per attempt with less than 12 carries per game. The Washington Commanders are 12th in rushing defense. Washington should control Montgomery and the Bears rushing attack. The price is -110 on Bet365. Take Montgomery under.

Prediction: David Montgomery Under 63.5 yards (-110 at Bet365)
