5 Bets to Make this Week

5 Bets spreads it’s wings this week with two World Series bets, as well as picks in the NFL, college football, and the PGA Tour.
The World Series starts on Friday and 5 Bets has it covered. There are so many prop bets to make on the two teams that are chasing the Commissioner’s Trophy. I like one in particular and I also pick a winner.
The NFL didn’t have any games that really excited me, but there is a prop bet that I have high confidence in placing.
College football has a rivalry game on Saturday that features a Top 5 team laying a lot of points but it still feels like they will cover.
The PGA Tour is playing another event devoid of stars but there is a veteran tour grinder I think will crack the Top 5.
5 Bets to Make this Week
- Alex Bregman to win MVP +1000
- Astros to Win World Series -190
- Lamar Jackson Under 33.5 longest completion
- Michigan -22.5 over Michigan State
- Ryan Armour +1600 Top 5 Bermuda Championship
Bregman Shines in World Series
While Yordan Alvarez has gotten most of the attention on the Houston Astros, Alex Bregman is putting up MVP numbers. The third baseman set the record for most playoff home runs by a third baseman.
Bregman is tied for ninth in the postseason in batting average at .333, is eighth in home runs, fifth in RBI, and seventh in hits.
I also like that Bregman is hitting fourth, behind Alvarez. While pitchers might try and pitch around Alvarez, they will have no choice but to face Bregman. That’s where he should thrive.
Prediction: Bregman to win World Series MVP (+1000 at BetMGM)

Astros Win World Series
While Houston is still tainted by the cheating scandal in the 2017 World Series, there’s no denying how good this team is. They are a huge favorite to win the World Series over the Phillies and I have to agree.
I’m taking a risk by picking the Astros since my boss just wrote a great World Series preview and took the Phillies. I may be right, but also might be relegated to cleaning the office bathrooms as payback.
I would much rather see the upset but I just don’t see it happening. The Astros have the stronger pitching staff, posting a team playoff ERA of 1.88 compared to 3.06 for the Phillies.
The Phillies have a slight edge in batting, but I think the Astros pitching should keep them pretty quiet. Look for the Astros to win in five games.
Prediction: Astros to win World Series (-190 at Caesars)

Jackson Comes up Short in Longest Completion
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday and should struggle against the Bucs. Jackson hasn’t thrown a pass longer than 31 yards for four consecutive weeks.
Unibet has a prop putting his longest completion against the Bucs at 33.5 yards. The Under should hit on the bet.
While the Bucs are having their problems on offense, the defense is pretty solid. They are fourth in the league in sacks, so Jackson may be scrambling more than he would like to.
Tampa Bay is also sixth in passing yards allowed, averaging 190 a game. I think Jackson will have a productive day, but it’ll be with his feet, not his arm.
Prediction: Jackson Under 33.5 longest pass (-115 at Unibet)
Watch: Thursday 8:15 p.m. ET, Amazon Prime

Michigan Cruises Past Rival
Usually large spreads in rivalry games scare me and I won’t go anywhere near them.
The Michigan Wolverines facing in-state rival Michigan State Spartans matches that criteria. The Wolverines are a 22.5-point favorite.
This game, however, I feel relatively confident that Michigan will be able to cover the three-touchdown plus spread. The Wolverines destroyed No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions, 41-17 two weeks ago at home.
Now they host Michigan State and the three spreads they had of 24 points or more they covered. The Spartans were 27-point underdogs to the Ohio State Buckeyes and lost, 49-20.
I expect a similar offensive performance from Michigan and it won’t be an easy cover, but I believe the Wolverines get it done.
Prediction: Michigan -22.5 Over Michigan State (-105 at Caesars)

Armour Cracks Top 5 Bermuda Championship
I haven’t visited golf lately and for good reason. The tour is in the portion of its schedule where the stars are mostly staying away.
The Bermuda Championship is a perfect example of that. Most of those in the field are not household names and trying to pick a winner is like closing your eyes and throwing a dart against the wall.
Ryan Armour might be someone to back this week, though. Not to win,
But getting into the Top 5. Armour, 46, is four years away from the PGA Tour Champions and his success on the PGA Tour is in fields like this one.
He has finished tied for eighth here and his accuracy off the tee helps. Plus at +1600 it’s a good value bet.
Prediction: Ryan Armour Top 5 (+1600 at Bet365)
