Caesars’ Atlantic City Casinos Add Sports Betting, Mississippi Is Next

Caesars Entertainment’s two Atlantic City casinos have joined New Jersey’s sports betting market—and two casinos in Mississippi will add sports betting in the coming weeks.

Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel and Casino launched sports betting on July 30, and Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City (i. with castmembers of Legends in Concert, Regional President for Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City, Kevin Ortzman; and Vice President & General Manager for Harrah’s Resort, Karie Hall) began taking bets on August.

Caesars said it will offer mobile sports betting, but did not provide a timeline. However, the company hopes to have approval from New Jersey regulators by mid-August.

So far, no one has yet been approved for mobile or online sports betting in New Jersey.

In mid-August, Caesars’ Mississippi properties Harrah’s Gulf Coast in Biloxi and Horseshoe Tunica will start taking bets on-site. The company also plans to expand mobile betting into the state.

Caesars is partnering with Scientific Games to offer sports betting through its OpenBet sports book.

Several other gambling companies have applied for permission to offer in-person or mobile sports betting (or both) in New Jersey in time for football season, which beings the first week of September.
