Will Manchester U turn it around? Will Arsenal get a new weapon? Can Liverpool sustain? And can West Ham continue the streak? Check our analysis before you bet English Premier League.
The biggest news in the English Premier League last week was the debut of Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick. The German hadn’t been on the pitch in more than two years, and he had just two days to prepare for Crystal Palace. But he didn’t miss a step.

Man U On the Rebound
Manchester United scored a 1-0 victory on Sunday, and while the squad from Old Trafford are currently sixth in the standings, they could be on the rebound after their sluggish start.
Rangnick sure liked what he saw on Sunday. “I’m very happy with the way the team performed, the way they played, especially the first half hour—that was exceptional,” he told reporters afterward. “The only thing missing in that period was one or two nil. I’m very happy with the result and the clean sheet.”
The team was a -185 favorite at BetMGM, so the victory over Crystal Palace, which is 13th in the 20-team standings, was no surprise. Rangnick is optimistic about the remainder of the season.
“There are things we need to improve on—to get clean sheets, to get control of the game,” Rangnick said. “What they showed was more than I expected, to be honest.”
The turnaround might come faster than he thinks. Four of Manchester United’s five matches are against teams with losing records. The one that’s above .500, Brighton, is ninth in the standings. The real test won’t come until January 22, when the team travels to play fourth-place West Ham.

Arsenal’s Struggles Are Real
Before the season, Arsenal was +5000 to capture the Premier League Championship. There was little hope the team would challenge for the Premier League title. But it’s has slid further than many expected. Arsenal is currently +20000 at PointsBet. The team is 7-5-2 and currently seventh in the standings.
Though the team has a winning record, it hasn’t played well against those above them in the standings. It’s 1-4 in those matches, and has been outscored, 15-5.
Luckily, help could be on the way. The team was active in the summer transfer market, and is expected to be active again in the January window. With a reported €200 million at its disposal, it’s targeting Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
With three goals in three games, Calvert-Lewin would add some much-needed offense to Arsenal.

Liverpool: Klopp’s Prediction Came True
On November 7, when Liverpool lost its first match in 26 contests to West Ham, Manager Jurgen Klopp predicted the team would rebound from the loss. He was right: Liverpool entered the season at +500 to win the English Premier League at PointsBet. But some fans wondered if the team could compete for the title.
Not Klopp. A month ago, he told reporters that blips in the season are to be expected. “The league is getting stronger, and so it’s more difficult to get 99 or 97 points. That’s logical,” he said. “Sides will lose matches … You have to get through these periods and carry on, recover, carry on, recover. There’s a specific mindset needed, and that’s what we think we have, But it’s not a given.”
Since the loss to West Ham, Liverpool has won four straight, outscoring opponents 13-1. They jumped from fourth place to second and are now just a game behind Manchester City.

West Ham Staying Strong
After West Ham’s impressive 3-2 victory over Liverpool, the team hit a bit of a slump, going winless in its next three matches. But the team managed a big win on Saturday to break the streak.
West Ham defeated bitter rival Chelsea, 3-2, and as a result, maintained its fourth-place position in the standings.
Yes, the team has endured head-scratching losses to lesser teams such as Brentford, and draws against Brighton. And it’s downed top-tier squads Liverpool and Tottenham.
Manager David Moyes is encouraged by his team’s play. “Great character and great resilience,” Moyes said. “We stuck at it and made the point of trying not to go 3-1 down, making sure we had to chance to be in the game.” He added, “We changed one or two things at halftime just to see if we could give ourselves a bit more attacking, and it did.”
