5 Bets
- John Isner to win ATP Newport +500
Scottie Scheffler to win Open Championship +1600
Miesha Tate (-220) to defeat Lauren Murphy at UFC Fight Night
Miami Marlins to defeat Philadelphia Phillies
New York Mets to defeat Chicago Cubs
John Isner Serves Up Victory at ATP Newport
John Isner is entering the Newport Hall of Fame Open with some momentum behind him. While his Wimbledon run was cut short in the third round this past weekend, he was able to take a big-time victory in the second round to build some steam heading into a familiar tournament at ATP Newport.
Isner defeated Andy Murray, nearly in straight sets, and this should have his confidence going strong at the moment. Isner has won this particular tournament four times before and this experience should serve him well this time around. His serve looked extremely tough to return at Wimbledon and that could prove to be quite a significant advantage at Newport.
At +500, Isner has the second-shortest odds to win the tournament. Grab this before it shrinks even shorter.
No. 1 Scottie Scheffler Tops at Open Championship
The current world No. 1, Scottie Scheffler is looking for his fifth PGA Tour victory of the season, as he has been on quite a tear so far in 2022. Scheffler has been either winning or coming very close to doing so in just about every tournament he has entered this season and there is no reason to believe that won’t continue to be the case in this year’s Open Championship. Read our best bets for the Open Championship HERE.
His best finish at The Open was tie for eighth a year ago and Scheffler will be looking to add a second major championship trophy to his mantle. When a golfer has this type of momentum going, you don’t bet against it. Take Scheffler with his surprising +1600 odds and don’t question it.

Tate’s Move to Flyweight Pays Off
Meisha Tate and Lauren Murphy were scheduled to fight at UFC 276 a couple of weeks ago, but the fight ended up getting pushed back to this weekend at UFC Fight Night.
Tate is making her flyweight debut after spending most of her career in the bantamweight class. She believes she can conquer this weight class after dropping about ten pounds and is hoping a win Saturday night will qualify her for a chance at the flyweight title belt.
Therefore, Tate will be taking this fight very seriously and cannot afford a loss. She should be a safe bet to defeat Murphy, who is coming off a loss, and perhaps even with a KO. The odds of -220 are not great, but an upset is highly unlikely.
Miami Marlins Take Advantage of Rusty Philadelphia
The Philadelphia Phillies will be returning from a trip to Toronto which several key players missed due to lack of a COVID vaccination. These players will have a tough time getting back into the swing of things against Miami Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcantara, who has arguably been the MLB’s best this season. He is 9-3 with a hard-to-believe 1.73 ERA so far this year and seems to somehow be improving as the season goes on.
Alcantara will face Phillies starter Kyle Gibson, who has struggled a bit this season. This figures to be a clear Marlins advantage and the moneyline is all but a sure thing. Also look at the -1.5 run line here and see what kind of plus-money you can bring back.

Scherzer Will Overpower Cubs
Max Scherzer will be back on the hill for the New York Mets this Saturday night against a Chicago Cubs team that is going through a rebuild. Since coming back from an injury absence of nearly two months, Mad Max has returned directly to All-Star form with zero hiccups in his first two starts back.
In 13 innings since returning, Scherzer has allowed just one run on five hits and has struck out 20 batters. Expect a lot more strikeouts and for that hit/run count to remain low against a struggling Chicago lineup on Saturday night. A -1.5 run line might be in order here for the National League’s second-best team, but definitely take the moneyline regardless of what odds are posted.
