NFL 311 likes Eagles, 49ers, Bengals

The NFL 311 has its eyes on the Eagles, 49ers, Bengals, the Over in the Lions, Panthers game, and a prop bet with quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

The 311 consists of three NFL games that I will select using the spread or money line, one game that is selected based on the total number of points for both teams going Over or Under and one player projected production for the game and if he exceeds or falls short of that number. This will give you action every week that is based on trends and matchups.

This is Week 16 of the NFL 2022-2023 season. The 15th week of action had the favorites covering five times and the dogs 11. The totals were seven Over and nine Under.

The team with the best record against the spread is the Cincinnati Bengals at 11-3. The teams with the best record with the total going over are the Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears, and Detroit Lions at 9-5. The team with the best record with the total going under is the Denver Broncos at 11-3. My record in last week 311 was 1-4 and the 311 record for the year is 36-37-2.

Eagles Pull off Upset over Cowboys

The Philadelphia Eagles are traveling to take on the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are favored by 5.5 points. The status of Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts is questionable. He is dealing with a shoulder injury.

Gardner Minshew is a capable back up who could start for several NFL teams. The Eagles have excelled in all phases of the game.

The Cowboys have suffered two late game losses to the Green Bay Packers and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Eagles have an advantage with Head Coach Nick Sirianni over Mike McCarthy.

The Cowboys provided bulletin board material when linebacker Micah Parsons questioned Hurt’s MVP candidacy. Eagles will want to win this game and clinch the division along with the first round bye. Take the Eagles plus the points.

Prediction: Eagles +5.5 over Cowboys (-110 at Caesars)

San Francisco Conquers Commanders

The San Francisco 49ers host the Washington Commanders. The Niners are favored by seven.

Washington has a 7-6-1 record. They have a short work week after losing on Sunday Night to the New York Giants, 20-12. The Niners have been off nine days after defeating the Seattle Seahawks 21-13.

The Niners have been impressive defensively. They are limiting their opponents to an average of 8.9 points in the second half of their last three games and rank second in the NFL in that category.

Washington had red zone issues against the Giants and turned the ball over to stall drives. That will prove disastrous against the Niners. Take the Niners minus the points.

Prediction: 49ers -7 over Commanders (-110 at BetMGM)

Watch: Saturday, 4:05 p.m. ET, CBS, FuboTV

Bengals Streak on the line with Patriots

The Cincinnati Bengals travel to Foxboro to take on the New England Patriots. The Bengals are favored by 3.5 points.

The Bengals are leading the AFC North with a 10-4 record and have won six games in a row. The Patriots are 7-7 and need to win to stay in the race for a wildcard berth.

The Pats are 2-3 over their last five. Cincy is 5-3 on the road. The Bengals are still striving to get the No. 1 seed. The Pats won’t get in the way after their demoralizing loss to the Las Vegas Raiders last week. Take the Bengals minus the points.

Prediction: Bengals -3.5 over Patriots (-110 at Unibet)

Watch: Saturday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS, FuboTV

Lions, Panthers Struggle to Score

The Carolina Panthers are hosting the Detroit Lions on Saturday. The Lions are favored by 2.5 points and the total is 44.5.

The Lions have won six of their last seven games. Carolina has played better after making the mid-season coaching change. Carolina is 3-2 over their last five games.

The Lions need to continue to win to maintain their playoff hopes. Detroit has covered the spread in their last seven straight games. Three of the last four games the Panthers have played have gone under. This game will follow that trend. Take the total under 44.

Prediction: Lions-Panthers Over 44 (-110 at Golden Nugget)

Watch: Saturday, 1 p.m. ET, Fox, FuboTV

Jets Hold Back Lawrence

The total passing yards for Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is 228.5. Lawrence is facing the New York Jets on the road. The price is set at -110 on Bet365.

Lawrence has exceeded the projected total in five of his last six games. The Jets, however, have held three of their last four opposing quarterbacks to under 200 passing yards. Take Lawrence and the Under.

Prediction: Lawrence Under 228.5 passing yards (-110 at Bet365)

Watch: Thursday, 8:15p.m. ET, Amazon Prime
