NFL’s 311 Targets Cowboys, Giants, Falcons

This week’s 311 looks at the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and the Atlanta Falcons to have successful weeks against the spread.

The 311 consists of three NFL games that we select using the spread or money line, one game that is selected based on the total number of points for both teams going Over or Under, and one player projected production for the game and if he exceeds or falls short of that number. This will give you action every week that is based on trends and matchups.

This is Week 7 of the NFL 2022-2023 season. The sixth week of action had the favorites covering six times and the dogs eight. The totals went nine Under and five Over.

The teams with the best record against the spread are the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, and Buffalo Bills. The teams with the best record with the total going Over are the Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Raiders, Cleveland Browns, and the New Orleans Saints. My record in last week’s 311 was 2-3 and my record for the year is 14-15-1.

Take Streaking Giants over Slumping Jags

The Jacksonville Jaguars are favored by three over the G-Men. The Jaguars have lost three straight games. The Giants have won three straight and have a 5-1 record.

Giants running back Saquon Barkley is having a great season and is second in the NFL in rushing yardage. The Jags are ranked third against the run.

The problem with the Jags is at quarterback. Trevor Lawrence has been under 200 yards passing in two of his last three games. That trend should continue against the Giants who just held quarterback Lamar Jackson to under 225 in their win last week over the Baltimore Ravens. Take the Giants plus the three points.

Prediction: Giants -3 over Jaguars (-110 at BetRivers)

Falcons Soar Over Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals are favored by six over the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are the best team in the NFL against the spread, covering all six of their games.

Atlanta is coming in off a 28-14 win over the San Francisco 49ers. The Bengals have won three of their last four games. Cincy has scored more than 26 points in each of the wins.

Atlanta’s ground game will have a problem against the Bengals top third ranked rushing defense. The Falcons rely on creating turnovers, running the ball and controlling time of possession. My lean is toward Atlanta because of their ATS record. Grab the Falcons plus the six.

Prediction: Falcons +6 over Bengals (-110 at Caesars)

Watch: Sunday 1 p.m. ET FOX

Dallas Cowboys Money Against Detroit Lions

The Dallas Cowboys are favored by seven at home against the Detroit Lions. The Lions are coming in off a bye week. The Lions are 1-4 this season.

The Cowboys are coming in off an emotional loss to their division rival, the Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 26-17. Dallas will keep the Lions offense in check with their defense which is currently ranked in the top five in the league this season.

Take the Cowboys money line as they bounce back and beat the Lions.

Prediction: Cowboys ML over Lions (-303 at Unibet)

Expect Over in Cleveland Browns-Baltimore Ravens

The Cleveland Browns travel to play the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The total in the game is 46.5. The Ravens have lost two of their last three games and haven’t covered in any of them.

The Browns have a tendency to let their games go over the projected total. While the Ravens should win the game, I expect a high-scoring game with the Over as the bet in Baltimore this Sunday . Three of the last four games the teams have played have gone Over.

Prediction: Browns-Ravens Over 46.5 (-108 at Unibet)

Watch: Sunday 1 p.m. ET CBS

Arizona Cardinal quarterback Kyler Murray has gone over 250 passing yards in three of his five games. The total for Murray for this Thursday’s game against the New Orleans Saints is 245.5 passing yards.

Murray averages more than 40 passes per game. The return of wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the team should increase Murray’s productivity. Hopkins has missed the first six games of the season due to suspension for use of a performance enhancing substance. Hopkins 13.4 career average yards per catch will push Murray over 245.5. Take Murray to go Over.

Prediction: Kyler Murray Over 245.5 passing yards (-110 at Bet365)
