Online Gambling Revenue Grows in UK

Online gambling remains the largest part of the UK’s gambling industry according to a report from the UK Gambling Commission.

The report covered the 12-month period from April 2015 to March 2016.

Online gambling in that period took in revenue of £4.46 billion, up from the £4.23 billion that was reached in the 12 months between April 2015 and March 2016, according to a report at focugn.com.

Remote betting increased 10 percent to £1.79 billion, boosted by the football tournament Euro 2016, and pool betting increased 16 percent to £30.2 million.

Land-based betting was second at £3.46 billion while the national lottery declined 4.3 percent to £3.26 billion. Land-based casinos increased its operations by 19 percent to £1.19 billion, the biggest jump in all sectors, mainly because of table games, which registered £987 million. Gaming machines also grew 3.5 percent, the report said.
