Tournament of the Week: Borgata Poker

How to Play Online Casino Games & Win!

When it comes to online poker tournaments, most of the big action is reserved for weekends—especially Sundays. But you can still find exciting midweek tournaments at BorgataPoker.com.

All the online poker sites have daily schedules for tournament action, including WSOP.com, PalaPoker.com and PokerstarsNJ.com,.

But one site is also known for exciting midweek action. BorgataPoker.com offers ups three great weekday tournaments with modest buy-ins and the potential for sizeable wins.

The action starts Tuesday with two special tournaments at BorgataPoker.com:

  • Mega-Tuesday $535 Six-Max Tournament. Tuesdays, 8 p.m. OK, a $535 buy-in isn’t modest, and this is a pretty hardcore tournament. The prize pool guarantee is $12,000. Six-Max means each table will have a maximum of six players, rather than the traditional nine. Players start with $75,000 in chips; up to three re-buys are allowed. Six-Max games are generally looser than full-table games, as you can play more starter hands, and players come around into position—and into the blinds—more quickly. That can lead to bigger pots and some fast action.
  • Old School Tournament. Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m. This is a more conventional tournament with a buy-in of $35 and a $750 prize pool guarantee. You can also re-buy for $20. The Old School tournament is a nice, mellow Texas Hold’em event for players who just want some basic action at a reasonable buy-in.
  • Mega-Thursday Tournament. Thursdays, 8 p.m. With a $320 buy-in and a $7,500 prize pool guarantee, this is a basic Texas Hold’em. Players start with 12,500 chips, but a player-friendly structure keeps the blinds from escalating too quickly. Like the Mega-Tuesday tournament, up to three re-buys are allowed. The Mega-Thursday isn’t as hardcore as the Tuesday tourney, but it’s still a nicely sized contest to get you ready for weekend action.

Of course, BorgataPoker.com also offers a daily $10,000 guaranteed tournament seven days a week at 7 p.m. The buy-in is $109 and two re-entries are allowed. That goes along with a full slate of daily tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $2 to $215.

With BorgataPoker.com, you don’t have to wait for the weekend to get some hot tournament action.
